About WARR10R - Running Camps

WARR10R started out as "Warrior Running Camps" in 2006, with an idea to make a "Summer Camp for Runners."  With this idea, camp focus was to train hard first - then have fun, with activities you would expect to find at summer camp.  In 2006, we had 70 participants and in 2007, we had 120 participants.  In 2008, we had 170 participants, and 2009 we had over 300 total campers.

WARR10R Running Camps are an opportunity to train with other runners.  Our camps are unique because we follow 10 core principles.  On top of that, our staff are highly qualified coaches and runners.  With improved skills and fitness in your sport, along with guaranteed fun, How can you go wrong with WARR10R Running Camps?

WARR10RWe Achieve Results Representing 10 Rules. These 10 rules are our principles for our WARR10R Running Camp These include the following:WARR10R™

1. FUN - Now is the opportunity to participate and have fun. Our goal is to provide the "fun factor" thus making sports an enjoyable part our participant's life.

2. SAFETY - When participating with WARR10R, safety is taken very seriously. From providing our highly qualified coaches and staff to checking our equipment and fields before every activity. We insure our participants that they will return home safely.

3. SPORTSMANSHIP - When you play sports or compete in almost anything, there are winners and losers. With WARR10R, we emphasis sportsmanship. Our goal is fair play, courtesy and grace in losing. This is for our parent's as well. Before our participants partake in our sports, they are required, along with their parents must agree to our WARR10R Sportsmanship Code.

4. KNOWLEDGE OF SPORT - Our coaches and staff are highly qualified in their respected sport and teach based on the rules for their sport. They provide games and activities that help our participants develop knowledge and understanding of their sport.

5. SKILL DEVELOPMENT - Our goal, while providing fun, is to encourage proper technique and give instructions that promote improved ability at our camps, leagues or coaching. Over time, skill development occurs.

6. PROPER PROGRESSION - Everyone must crawl before they walk. In sports, the same rules apply. There are certain steps and procedures that are important to become better at each sport. We emphasis proper progression and coach based on that principle.

7. IMPROVED FITNESS - While progressing or developing skills, improved fitness levels are important to really excel in each sport. If you are out of shape, then proper progression and skill development takes longer to achieve. If you have to take a breather every 2 minutes, then fitness has to be improved.

8. NUTRITION - In today's society of fast food and uncontrolled obesity, we emphasis eating right, while exercising. We encourage everyone to avoid foods that are high in unneeded fats and sugars. Our coaches instruct on foods to avoid while competing or foods that promote a better lifestyle. Better nutrition leads to a better performance and a healthy you.

9. INJURY PREVENTION - One way to not progress is to become injured. Our goal is to give our participants tools that promote injury prevention. These include two of the above - proper progression and improving fitness. Also, including flexibility along with strength training will keep the injury bug at bay. While all are important, a flexibility plan and strength training can be implemented to insure muscles are prepared for their specific sport. Our coaches provide these tools that will keep our participants playing and not sitting out.

10.  IMPROVED SELF-ESTEEM - We want our participants to feel good about themselves and what they accomplish. Their confidence is the reason why we are here. If their happy, having fun and among friend, then most likely their self esteem is at an all time high. We encourage and constantly give praise to keep them moving forward in our sports. This will carry over to school, home and life.
